Day One: A SITI Skidmore Experience

In honor of what would have been the first day of our 28th Skidmore Summer Intensive, we invite you to train, collaborate and experiment with SITI. The schedule of this virtual event will include both Suzuki and Viewpoints training with Company members, a conversation with Anne Bogart, and a closing Party where we can meet, mingle and toast the day together.

11am – 2:15pm
Each year since 1992, SITI has invited artists to Saratoga Springs to train in Suzuki and Viewpoints while engaging with SITI’s most current material. Gather with us to explore the possibilities of the trainings in a digital arena and to discuss the challenges and opportunities this new landscape presents. Working together across space while sharing time, help us renew this commitment to one another as we look towards the future.

We realize that most of you will not have access to a large space or a floor you can stomp on. We are working to make trainings accessible in whatever space you have available. More information will come in your confirmation email.

Resonance Now
A Conversation with Anne Bogart and SITI Company
3:30 - 5:30
What is the role of resonance in our lives and in our artistic endeavors as we move forward?

Happy Hour
5:30 - 7:30
While we can’t pour you a drink to thank you for coming, we invite you to bring your own libations to our online party and toast the day. Following the format of our Virtual Alumni Happy Hours, we will meet for a round of introductions before splitting into smaller breakout rooms. Participants will be free to move from room to room as you would at a live party. Come to share your own struggles and solutions in the face of our current situation, or simply to laugh and share memoires.

SITI is proud to offer this event free of charge. If you are able, we ask that you please consider making a donation to SITI Company here. Your generous support makes programs like this possible.
Thank you.

Who Should Attend?
This event is open to actors, directors, dancers, and performance makers with previous experience training with SITI Company in Suzuki & Viewpoints training. Artists should be familiar with the Suzuki forms and Viewpoints vocabulary. Previous experience includes Skidmore, SITI multi-week trainings, Drop-In regulars, and SITI Conservatory Alum.

Note that we will not allow observers in the training. With limited space, we will prioritize artists who wish to participate in the whole day of training and conversations first. Once these slots are filled, we will open up the remaining slots for Anne’s talk to those not training.

If you are able to join, please fill out the following Google Form. Please note that spaces are limited, and you will receive a confirmation email with instructions about how to join.
